Waterless Hydration

Drinking water has one job and one job only which it manages to do sufficiently well. Water is meant to hydrate and a consistent supply of water to your body ensures that you stay hydrated. However, people have always tried to come up with better ways of hydration by introducing sports and energy drinks that have the same hydration effect of water but in a much lesser quantity and while they have achieved that to some extent another problem has come up for these carbonated beverages. These so-called ‘alternatives’ end up being filled with sugar and caffeine and are unhealthy if consumed regularly and can also lead to obesity in some extreme cases of overconsumption. However, while water may be one of the few drinkable healthy sources of hydration on the other side of the spectrum we can find other sources of hydration as well but in a different more solid format. Food.

A lot of foods and fruits, in particular, are a great way to hydrate yourself. Many fruits such as watermelons, papayas, and lychees have some water content and can hydrate you if you eat enough of them. Watermelon is the best fruit to hydrate yourself with. Watermelons are 92% water and only 8% of the fruit. Watermelons also contain calcium and magnesium which are great electrolytes and can help restore balance to your body. Other fruits with high water content include apples, peaches, oranges, and pineapples.

If you are unable to have water for some time then it is best to avoid salty foods. Our body only needs a little bit of salt throughout the day but when we indulge in fries, burgers or other processed and fried foods we take in a lot of salt and excess salt can easily dehydrate the body. Instead of eating such fried, processed and salty foods it is better to eat healthier in general and consume more veggies and fruits since the veggies can supply your body with the optimum level of salt required while the fruits can also rehydrate your body sufficiently thus maintaining a balance in your body and making sure you stay sharp throughout the day. A salad is the best way to combine the benefits of the two and make sure your body stays in good nick.

Milk or most liquids are a great way to hydrate yourself since they contain some percentage of water that can be used by your body. Milk also contains calcium which is helpful in keeping you energized. Another great and delicious way to replace the electrolytes lost by your body is drinking a smoothie. The smoothie can be made from milk or yogurt, both of them have a water content in them which can help fuel you and keep you going. The calcium and protein from the milk or yogurt combined with healthy fruits that are rich in antioxidants such as blueberries or any other fruits for that matter have enough water content and electrolytes to completely charge you up and make you feel refreshed and energized. These smoothies also make for a great post-workout fix, being helpful for muscle recovery and relaxation as well.

Another thing people need to understand is that water doesn't only hydrate you from the inside it also hydrates and protects your body on the outside. Sweat is the body's way of cleaning itself and removing any impurities from your pores by flushing them out along with the sweat. If you aren't having enough water your body might not be able to sweat as much causing various skin problems as well. In that case, hydrating from the outside by using moisturizers and other hydrating creams is a great way to keep your skin healthy and moisturized. Having a moisturizing routine in the morning before you leave your house and another one before you sleep is a good way to ensure your skin stays healthy and hydrated even on the days when you cannot meet your daily water goals.

    Waterless Hydration

That being said, water is still not replaceable completely by food and if you cannot carry water with you everywhere, simply having a glass or two before leaving and then not drinking for a long time is not healthy. A great product that I found hydrates and gives my body an abundance of electrolytes so that I can get through most of my day without any issues is Reload. Reload is a great effervescent hydration drink that is rich with electrolytes and other hydration minerals. Its effervescent format is great and makes it very easy to use. A Reload before leaving in the morning and one after coming back along with some fruits throughout the day is a great way to stay hydrated and charged up without having any of the harmful sugars and caffeine that are found in the rest of the energy drink alternatives. Fast&Up reload makes hydration easy and convenient with its effervescent hydration, electrolyte, and intelligent nutrition solutions.
