    Indian Gooseberries

Vitamin C or ascorbic acid (chemical name) gets that name from the disease it treats – scurvy. Many animals can produce their own vitamin C and do not need to get it from food, but humans require it as part of their nutrition. Vitamin C occurs in two forms – L-ascorbic acid and D-ascorbic acid.  The L form, which can occur in both natural and synthetic forms, is synonymous with vitamin C and carries all its benefits, while the D carries identical antioxidant properties but not the vitamin C content of L and is not used in any form of vitamin supplement.

Vitamin C is responsible for numerous processes within our body; vitamin C is used by the body to make proteins which are the building blocks for many of our tissues and organs. Vitamin C is a precursor for Collagen, which is responsible for the formation of parts of our bones, muscles, cartilage and skin.

Vitamin C plays a significant role in immunity by improving the activity of some WBC & NK cells and also helps the immune system tackle invading pathogens (Wintergerst, 2006). Another important function is in allowing the absorption of the type of iron found in plant-based foods (Gershoff, 1993).

Vitamin C is obtained in all fresh fruits, vegetables, and their juices. There are few unconventional high sources of vitamin C in nature such as rosehips, Indian gooseberry, etc. When it comes to the best vitamin C supplements, there is no one-size-fits-all.

    Amla: A Vitamin C powerhouse

Amla/ Awla or the Indian gooseberry is a great source of antioxidants, especially natural Vitamin C, with a concentration of 600 mg to 1800 mg of ascorbic acid in every 100 g. In comparison to orange juice, fresh Amla juice contains 20 times as much vitamin C. According to a published article, naturally occurring vitamin C in Amla is better absorbed by the body than the synthetic form. This is due to the presence of bioflavonoids, which aid absorption.

It is also loaded with a range of polyphenols (Gallic acid, ellagic acid, corilagin etc.) Polyphenols are antioxidants that prevent free radical damage in the body and help fight the different types of Cancer and Cardiovascular Diseases. It is also rich in fiber and minerals. Overall, Amla increases the body's well-being and protects it from numerous ailments.

FAST&UP CHARGE is a completely natural Vitamin C supplement which delivers immunity-boosting ingredients like 1000 mg Amla and 10 mg Zinc to help boost immune activity, support a robust immune response and increase resistance to immune challenges.
