5 Things to Watch Out for Indian Fans

T20 World Cup 2022 Schedule, Teams, Venue, Dates

India had won the inaugural edition of the T20 world cup under the talismanic leadership of MSD and the fans would want a repeat of the 2007 T20 world cup win. India is a cricketing nation and Indian fans always have great expectations from the team. Here’s a list of five things that all Team India fans would keep a keen eye on during the entire world cup.

1. Virat Kohli’s Batting

Virat Kohli has been India’s best batsman for a long time now. His consistency is something to marvel at. He has led India to so many important victories.

If India wants to win the cup, then Kohli needs to fire. He has played 104 T20s and has made over 3500 runs with an unbelievable average of 51.

Another great news to the Indian fans is that Virat just made his highest score in the T20s. His knock of 122 against Afghanistan is one of the greatest batting performances in the T20 match.

Now in his thirties, he would want to win everything before he cast the curtains on his illustrious career. There is every chance this could be Virat’s tournament. Indian fans have every reason to be excited about it.

2. Rahul Dravid – The Coach of the Indian Cricket Team

This Indian team is truly blessed to have Rahul Dravid as a coach. He is a gentleman of the game and one of the best to play the sport. He will have a tough task to get this Indian team ready for the T20 world cup. His main job will be to gel youngsters and experienced players.

There are a few players who are trying to find their form coming into the tournament. It will be a test for Dravid to turn their situation around quickly. If India manages to put in a good show in the world cup a large chunk of credit will go to Dravid and his coaching. No doubt Indian fans want Dravid to work his magic on this Indian cricket team.

3. Rohit’s Captainship Assignment

Rohit Sharma is one of the best captains in the short format of the game. Just look at his IPL record, under his captainship Mumbai Indians have won 4 IPL titles.

However, his trophy cabinet as an Indian captain has only the Asia Cup to show for it. Rohit would want to change that quickly. Rohit is a brilliant player in limited-overs cricket.

He wants to leave his mark as a captain on this team. Don’t forget he has support from Virat Kohli who is India's best player right now.
If he can guide India to glory at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup squad can book his place amongst great Indian captains such as Kapil Dev, Saurav Ganguli, and M.S.Dhoni. He has a team of top players. Indian fans should be very confident going into this tournament.

4. The Ra-Ro Opening Partnership

The Rohit-Rahul opening combination was instrumental for India’s successful run at the Men’s ODI World Cup in 2019 in England. In T20s, their numbers are staggering. Whenever both of them have opened the innings for India in international cricket, they have given the country good starts that too at a whopping strike rate of nearly 150. We have seen that in T20s good opening partnerships can help a team win many matches.

5. The Return of Boom Boom Bumrah

In cricket, batsmen get you the runs but bowlers win you the matches. One of the best depth bowlers in the world is Jasprit Bumrah. He was rested for the Asia cup but now he must be roaring to go. He is India’s lethal weapon against some of the best batsmen.

Pitches in Australia will also benefit Bumrah’s bowling style. In 58 matches he has picked up 69 wickets with an economy rate of just 6.46. He is Rohit’s go-to man both in IPL and International cricket. A well-rested Bumrah will now spearhead the Indian bowling attack.

Billions of Indian Team Fans will cheer for the country starting from October 16 when India goes against Pakistan in their first match of the T20 World Cup. All the #BleedBlue fans will pray for only one thing: the Rohit Sharma-led Indian Team lifts the World Cup trophy by winning the finals.
