In India, the Olympics broadcasting rights belong to Sony Pictures Networks India. They were awarded rights across all platforms which includes the OTT platform which is a very up and coming platform in the Indian market in the past few years. Moreover, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Sony are coming up with a channel specifically for the Olympics to be televised all over the nation.

In the United States of America, the television rights exclusively belong to NBC Universal’s TV networks. The American Television networks are one of the major sources of revenue to the International Olympics Committee.

In Australia, which includes the sports capital of the world (Melbourne), the broadcasting will be free-to-air on Channel Seven, 7Mate and 7Two. The subscription will be free or low priced as opposed to paid in 2016.
