As the world's biggest cricket league gets even bigger and better with the addition of two new teams, the hype around the mega auction of IPL 2022 is unsurprisingly high. The two new franchises, Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Supergiants will now compete in the cash-rich league with the likes of CSK, MI, DC, RR, SRH, PBKS, RCB, and KKR. But before these teams go against each other on the cricket field, all ten teams will fight for some of the best players around the world; come which BCCI has announced the 12thand 13th Feb the auction dates for Indian Premier League 2022.
The BCCI has officially announced February 12 and 13 as the auction dates for IPL 2022. The venue for the auction will be Bangalore. All 8 old franchises were asked to submit the list of retained players by the BCCI, while the two new franchisees were allowed to pick three players each from the available pool of players outside the auction. As this process is concluded, the BCCI has now organized the auction in the middle of Feb. It will be a two-day long process where representatives from all the 10 teams will be seated around the auction table from 10:00 AM in the morning to ensure that they pick all those desired players at the best price.
All the eight existing franchises were offered to retain up to four players from the previous season with the total purse size amounting to 90 crores.
