Whether you've already signed up for an event or if you're just thinking about running your first 5K, you might have a few questions about what's going to go down on race day. What do you wear? What will the process be like? And, is this actually going to be fun?

To tell you the truth, if you plan out everything beforehand then yes it’ll be fun and you will enjoy every bit of it.
Beginners shouldn't worry about how many miles to run; they should begin by running for time, not distance. Here are a few tips to all those who are planning to run 5k running:

-Wear your best and most comfortable outfit for the race day: The most important factor in choosing your race-day outfit is the weather. Keep in mind the weather conditions of your city and if possible, wear the outfit you wore during the training run you totally crushed!

-Make sure you are not wearing a brand new pair of shoes: Nothing kills a run like aching soles or a brutal blister you can feel begin to form. And even if you got a new pair, ensure that you have spent an ample amount in the training.

-The Pre-Run Routine: Before you start a run take Fast&Up Activate Helps increase blood flow and enhances oxygen availability to muscle cells you need a good warm-up routine, which includes stretching to get the blood flowing. Stretching will increase your flexibility and help prevent injuries by strengthening your muscles and joints. After doing some dynamic stretching, walk briskly for 5 minutes, then speed up to a comfortable jogging pace.

-Keep yourself hydrated: You tend to lose your electrolytes for various reasons. It can be hot weather or because of training or running. Make sure when you take pitstop during the run your thirst is fulfilled plus your energy levels are restored. Fast&Up is proud to be the official energy drink partner of the SBI Green Marathon.

-Carry energy gels with you: Since carbs are important for our body, especially during a 5K, 10K or a 21K run, carry enough Fast&Up Energy Gels with you so that you are stacked up with enough energy that will provide you an instant energy boost. Energy Gels are the best option because they are not “heavy on the stomach” and are unlikely to cause gastrointestinal distress. Complex carbohydrates like Maltodextrin allow you to absorb more calories or energy use than you can from simple sugars.
-Encourage your friends to participate along with you: You can ask your friends to show up at the sidelines to cheer for you or better ask them to join you. Turn the race into a social event, ‘cause, the more the merrier!—and later plan on a celebratory brunch.

-Hype yourself by listening or watching a motivational video or anthem: Create a playlist that is packed with songs that'll inspire you to push yourself. Our personal favorite includes Hall Of Fame by The Script, Whatever It Takes by Imagine Dragons and Unstoppable by Sia.

-Ease up your nerves by talking to your fellow runners: Introduce yourself to the people around you at the starting line. Who knows you might end up making a few friends. And not just that, they might be able to give you some tips.

-Don’t focus on the time, push yourself to finish the race: While it's great to have a goal in mind, just focus on crossing that finish line, whether it takes you 25 minutes or 45

-And the most important part: Whatever happens, smile for the camera!
