HOW DOES ZUMBA BENEFIT YOUR BODY AND MIND?

Aerobic exercises elevate your heart & breathing rate to pump more oxygenated blood to your body, which in turn strengthens your heart muscles. Zumba can equal anywhere from 300-600 calories burned, depending on your age, sex, and workout intensity.

● Zumba’s standard hour-long classes get your body accustomed to ongoing exercise and energy expenditure, which can make working out easier, more enjoyable and burn more calories overall. This in return improves your level of endurance.

â—Ź After a long day, turning your attention to dance is a great way to relieve stress. Studies show that exercise is very effective at reducing fatigue, improving alertness and concentration, and enhancing overall cognitive function.

DOS AND DONTS FOR ZUMBA

- Wear comfortable attire. Since Zumba includes stretching, you might want to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. You don’t want to strain any part of your body.

- Keep yourself hydrated. It is advised to avoid drinking water right before your class. Drinking water 20 minutes prior to the start of class is highly recommended. - It is completely OKAY to get the moves wrong. You are not an expert besides, the whole point is to enjoy your class.

- Consult your doctor before taking up the class, if you have a medical condition.
