5 Common Mistakes When Trying to Lose Weight

5 Fat Loss Mistakes

Goal setting is very important when it comes to getting in shape. However, one of the biggest mistakes people make is setting unrealistic goals for themselves. Losing fat-weight can seem very tough. Sometimes you feel like you're doing everything right, yet still not getting results after it.You may actually be hindering your progress by following the wrong advice.

It can be easy to get into a mindset where skipping a meal is the solution to your fat loss goal. When you skip a meal, it sets off a chain of adverse effects and your blood sugar drops, your metabolism slows down, and you often end up overeating at your next meal. Chronic meal skipping can leave you with low energy levels and harder time keeping the weight off. Over time, undereating cause metabolic damage and leads to unnecessary stress on your body. It can also disrupt your body's normal hormonal response, which can lead to a slower metabolism and a loss of muscle mass. And when that happens, fat is preserved, muscle is lost and the metabolism goes down making it much harder for you to be able to get the results that you want. The solution to this problem is to eat a good diet consisting of the right quality, quantity, the ratio of macronutrients (carbs, proteins and fats) and at the right times of the day. By doing this, you will actually boost your metabolism and burn more body fat. One can add multivitamins with the meals to keep the energy going throughout the day.

Eating fat won’t necessarily make you fat. When people hear the word “fats” or ‘’oils’’ they immediately think that they need to stay as far away from them as much possible. The truth about fats, however, is that not all fats are of equal quality. Fats such as monounsaturated and polyunsaturated (which are high in Omega 3s) can actually help you to decrease body fat and are essential for fat loss, energy production, brain function and even life itself! Make sure to include omega-3 fish oils each day with your meals.

Bodybuilders often toy with water consumption, sometimes cutting precious H2O out almost completely at certain points in the days before stepping onstage. That's a short-term strategy for a very specific competitive event, not a way to look good. Water is essential nutrient functioning, healthy skin and nails, and as a transporter for healthy nutrients into and out of your cells. If anything, it's more important to be adequately hydrated when you're looking to lose weight water is the original "detox"—and a far better one than anything else on the market. It is what flushes out any toxins from our bodies. And where do toxins otherwise get stored? In places like fat cells.

One of the best ways to accelerate fat loss is to cut all sugary drinks out of your diet. If you currently consume them, and you changed nothing else in your diet, you would see a significant drop in body fat. And so, the time has come! Draw a line through the can! While you're at it, lose other sugar sources which hide behind the mask of health like all the added sugars and also fruit juices should not have a place in the plan. A calorie deficit is required for weight loss. This means you need to burn more calories than you consume. Also, watching portion sizes is key. You may be consuming too many foods that are healthy but also high in calories, which is not correct.

When it comes to achieving the goals, consistency is the key. Most people are just not doing enough in terms of exercise and nutrition on a consistent basis to achieve their fitness goals. Whether that be missing workouts or cheating too much on the diet. This is especially during the weekend, all of these factors add up and lead to a stall in progress. There are a number of reasons for this, but the ones we see most often are:

It becomes unsustainable since the program is either too restrictive or too extreme.

You lack motivation since you have unrealistic expectations for getting results.

Lack of planning for definite goals.

No support network and so you tend to skip it.
