What I love about my Sport -

The challenge and need for consistent mental and physical strength. It inspires me to constantly improve and look ahead. Running makes me happy

What got me started (How the journey began)

My daughter encouraged me to have confidence in my abilities and pursue my dream,and, never give up.

My fitness mantra 

Stronger than yesterday.

Biggest sport challenge 

I got Dengue fever a month before 100 k Championship. To rise above all the odds and will my body and mind, to perform, and sustain the 100 k distance, with negligible training and a very weak physical body, was my greatest challenge.

Favourite sport memory 

Generosity. An African co runner sacrificed his precious sachet of water and handed it to me, at around the 60 k mark, in the 2017 Comrades. His magnanimous kind attitude taught me an invaluable lesson that, I always have to pass on my blessings. Each race teaches me something new and gifts me with beautiful invaluable memories

What my normal training day looks like

Run in the morning Then go to my office by 9.30 am in office all day Strength work / yoga / walk in the evening (3 times a week, 30 min)

Outskirts of the city - Rajarhat, Kolkata Lakes in Southern Avenue, Kolkata

My everyday fitness diet 

Regular home cooked Indian food - balanced diet Lot of seasonal fruit and vegetables

My family - my daughter,husband,parents, sister

What pushes me to the finish line?

My conviction in myself, the fact that I can always give more, I don't want to be quitter , the race is hard but I am tougher , faith in my loving family - all guide me towards finish

Importance of sports nutrition in my life 

Sports nutrition is crucial for performance and training. Running takes a lot out of my body. I am 45 years old. If I want to run strong and injury free, I have to nurture it with the right nutrition, hydration and recovery supplements. That is the only way I can continue to push myself and break barriers.
